Hotfix 1 for Windows 95/98/ME
Over the last few months, McAfee has been aware of stability problems with
the On-Access scanning engine running on Windows 95/98/ME platforms where
the host machine is placed under significant stress causing the VxD
subsystem to become unstable.
These problems include the following:

Blue screens (BSOD).

Excessive machine slowdown.

System clock time loss.
-
Jerky mouse cursor movement.

"Stuttering" sound cards.

assessment to the recently discovered W32/Bugbear@MM, also known as
Bugbear. Bugbear is a destructive mass-mailing worm that spreads via
network shares and by emailing itself to the user's local address book. It
also contains a backdoor Trojan component that contains keylogging
functionality. It was first reported to McAfee AVERT UK research Lab
Monday morning, and has been found in numerous countries including the
United States, England and India.
