McAfee Security Announces Strategic Alliance with MSN South Africa

McAfee Security announced a strategic alliance with MSN South Africa, part of the MSN global network of content and services from Microsoft, to offer managed anti-virus for desktops. MSN will offer the VirusScan® ASaP service to home offices and small and medium businesses (SMBs), providing 24/7 protection against virus threats without utilizing internal resources. The service provides the same level of protection found in software and hardware solutions in an online delivery model that removes the burden of management. To see the MSN site click here.

New VirusScan ASaP Interactive Demo
This interactive demo shows the ability of VirusScan ASaP to eliminate the costly, complex procedure of managing and updating desktop anti-virus software. It demonstrates how the service eliminates costs by automatically updating your desktops without impacting your internal resources or end users, and provides comprehensive visibility with detailed, Web-based reports. So for a step-by-step, interactive look into the future of desktop virus protection, click here.

VirusScan ASaP New Enhancements
VirusScan ASaP now delivers online, automated updates for desktops without Internet connectivity and enhanced protection for dial-up users. The new version provides automated updates for all desktops on a network, even for those without Internet connectivity, ensuring that all users on a corporate network are protected. Additionally, in order to ensure greater virus protection for remote and mobile users, the service will now automatically update users when they connect to the network. For more details, click here.

Leading Financial Institution Secures Transactions with E-Business Server's PGP Encryption Solution
Eastern Bank ensures the privacy of customer account information, service inquiries and applications for employment with the advanced PGP® encryption technology of the McAfee E-Business Server. Data is protected for an estimated 12,000 users each month. E-Business Server secures the confidentiality of data in customer applications beyond the limits of SSL - after it reaches the Web server and is processed, stored and accessed. Read more.

Accept No Substitutes for PGP Encryption
PGP encryption is the most popular and trusted encryption available. It is the encryption engine powering the award-winning McAfee E-Business Server product line. The software product line ensures the confidentiality of customer and business information in data transfers and storage. New E-Business Client software even enables desktop users to send and receive PGP-secured data using a simple drag-and-drop interface. PGP freeware is licensed only for non-commercial use. Customers with questions about E-Business Server or PGP licensing should contact their E-Business Server sales representative. For more information, click here.

Tip of the Month - Getting the Most from Your McAfee Anti-Virus Protection
Our first suggestion for getting the most from your McAfee Anti-Virus software is almost self-evident. Since the DATs hold the data required to find, identify and remove viruses, worms and other malicious code, they need to be updated to protect against the latest threats. However, where does the scan engine fit in? New types of virus appear, new file-types become vulnerable to infection, applications and operating systems are updated. In addition, McAfee's anti-virus developers create better and faster ways to scan and clean files - for older as well as newer types of infection. To take account of this, McAfee regularly updates its scan engine. So, to benefit fully from McAfee's world class detection and cleaning technology, you should keep both DATs and scan engine updated. To download the latest SuperDAT file, click here for more information on McAfee's detection and cleaning technology, and download our "Scan Engine and DATs".
