NEW WebShield appliances version 2.5
Available in May 2002 is version 2.5 of the WebShield appliances. This new software version for McAfee's award-winning anti-virus and content filtering appliances enables administrators to choose whether to run the appliances as transparent inline scanners, or in proxy scanning mode. McAfee WebShield e250 appliance awarded 'Product of the Year' by Network Magazine
We are proud to announce that the McAfee WebShield e250 appliance has been awarded 'Product of the Year' by Network Magazine. The award, to be announced at the Networld+Interop Exhibition in Las Vegas, is awarded to products that stand out as "the most significant offerings in a particular market space, and that were available for deployment in the calendar year 2001". Merisel joins the ASAP program
Merisel, a US software licensing provider, has entered a partnership with Network Associates for McAfee Security's ASAP services. With more than two decades of experience in software distribution and licensing, Merisel strives to offer a wide variety of products and services to meet each customer's specific needs. Understanding the burden that anti-virus management can place on SMB businesses, Merisel has chosen to offer VirusScan ASAP through its reseller partners in an effort to alleviate strain on overtaxed IT departments. PrimeSupport announces a new web based service for Network Associates' customers
PrimeSupport will launch a new web based service that will allow customers to unlock the technical expertise of PrimeSupport service teams more effectively. The new PrimeSupport Service Portal is a self-service platform for technical support that offers Network Associates' customers the ability to engage with the PrimeSupport service teams via the web. Our customers want choices in how they communicate their issues to experienced engineers on our side. Until now, the phone has been their best bet. Now, with this exciting new improvement to PrimeSupport, they can simply log a ticket via the Service Portal and feel confident that their issue will be resolved in the same timely manner that they have come to expect from PrimeSupport.

The Service Portal contains the following features:
On-line case creation and tracking
Access to the latest Frequently Asked Questions
A powerful Natural Language search engine that mines a technical knowledgebase
Website customizable by each user
Review and maintenance of grant number information

How Does PrimeSupport Service Portal Relate to the PrimeSupport KnowledgeCenter?
When the Service Portal goes live for Priority, Connect and KnowledgeCenter customers, the KnowledgeCenter website will be transitioned to an End-of-Life phase.
